Favorite iOSApps (iPad and iPhone)
Every site has their own post about their favorite apps for the iPhone, iPad and ect so why shouldn’t I for CincyGeek.com My favorite apps that I will be reviewing today are non-sponsored and I am not being compensated to give my opinions about them.
1. FlipBoard (iPad)
Why I like this app, it allows me to get all of my information in one place. I can get my Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, AllThingsD, and other online repositories and I can keep my self up to date with the latest information that I follow on various social media networks.
2. HootSuite (iPhone and iPad)
It is another social media device/ platform that ties multiple platforms into one. The services that it links together Twitter, FourSquare, Facebook and Facebook Page Management. I primarily use it for my twitter and facebook updates. You can schedule updates to ensure that you always have content going to the world. It also has a analytics system that can tell you how many people have clicked on your links, thus showing you if people are finding your posts interesting and entertaining.
3. Evernote (iPhone, iPad and Mac OSX)
Evernote is a program/app that allows you to keep your thoughts organized and was mentioned on one of the podcasts I did last year as the app of the week. I can add something to the app on my iPhone and can check up on it on my iPad, my Macbook Pro or on the internet. This is a valuable feature for someone who is constantly forgetting things, and need to be better organized.
4. Camera+ (iPhone)
This app is for the photographers who want to utilize their iPhone 4 instead of toting another camera with them. This will not replace the DSLR but it is much better than the point and shoot camera’s that most people use. It allows you to take snaps of items, edit them and then post them on most social networking sites.
5. Logmein Ignition (iPad and iPhone and Web)
This is great for keeping tabs on your computers while you are in another location. I use it frequently when I am away from my computer and need to get a certain file from my computers. I have this set up on my Macbook Pro and my desktop and have in the past needed a document that was at home while I was getting ready for a meeting and did not have time to redo the work, and it has saved me plenty of time. Also I can support my family by always being able to connect to their computers to fix any computer issue that they may be having big or small, as long as there is an internet connection I can do what I need to do.
6. BSOD App (iPhone) link opens iTunes
This app is great for any computer repair person, it allows you to look up any STOP codes that you get from a BSOD error in Microsoft Windows. It has come in handy for me here recently while diagnosing computers.
7. GetGlue (iPhone and iPhone)
This app allows you to be social with what you are watching on your television. It rewards you with stickers for checking in to the movies and shows you are watching. This will work with popular web streaming podcasts like iPad Today with Leo Laporte and Sarah Lane you will get one sticker for watching their show, since they are the ones who have really been advertising the app to the Twit Army.
