Why Google Won’t Share Honeycomb Code

Google has announced that they are not sharing the source code to the tablet operating system that they are releasing soon, Google has said if you are a valid company that is attempting to create a tablet they will allow you to have first look of the operating system so it can be used on their tablets. Why would Google now cut off the access to the latest operating system? Could it be to stop people from putting it on items it should not be on, in lieu of people rooting the Barnes and Noble Nook Color and putting Honeycomb onto it.

What I really think they are pushing for here, could be Google is actually creating their own tablet that will be contending with the Apple iPad2 and the only way to knock them out of the park would be to keep it in a closed enviroment, and not allow the competition to actually be able to spy on the whole process and make future changes before the new product is completed.
