Windows Phone 7 Release Event 10/11/2010

Could today be the day that will revitalize Microsoft’s stake in the smartphone arena? Microsoft had a Windows Phone 7 event in New York where Steve Ballmer released the latest news on the new smartphone platform from Microsoft. On the new phone platform you will find more features that will connect you with your social circle and your business circle all in one. Xbox is tied to the new phone system also, you may not be able to play full Xbox games on your phone, but there are spin off games that will be available that will get you Xbox achievements and points. It also brings together many of Microsoft’s popular offerings from other platforms, including Xbox, Zune, Office and Bing. Today Steve Ballmer announced phones from HTC, LG, Dell, Samsung and Asus. Acer is rumored to have a Windows Phone 7 phone coming out soon.

US Launch for the Windows Phone 7 platform is November 8th and it will be launched in Europe October 28th. At launch the only carriers in the US that will be carrying a Windows Phone 7 phone will be T-Mobile and AT&T, as the Windows Platform is only compatible with the CDMA network which Verizon and Sprint are not compatible with, or it could be the bad taste that Microsoft has left in their mouths from the Microsoft Kin……
